The Oak Tree Endowment Fund

Protecting Wildlife for Generations to Come

Just as a mighty oak tree begins as a single acorn, lasting conservation is built through thoughtful investments made over time.

The Oak Tree Endowment Fund was established to help ensure the long-term sustainability of Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation and the wildlife we serve. Created in partnership with the Lancaster County Community Foundation, this permanent fund provides an opportunity for supporters to invest not only in today’s patients, but in the future of wildlife rehabilitation, education, and conservation throughout our region.

Why an Endowment Matters

Every year, Acorn Acres relies on the generosity of donors, volunteers, grantmakers, and community partners to provide lifesaving care to injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife. While annual donations support the immediate needs of our patients; including food, medical supplies, housing, and rehabilitation, an endowment helps build a foundation for the future.

By growing a permanent source of support, The Oak Tree helps ensure that wildlife in our community will continue to have access to professional rehabilitation services for generations to come.

How the Fund Works

Contributions to The Oak Tree Endowment Fund are professionally managed through the Lancaster County Community Foundation. Gifts are invested for long-term growth, allowing the fund to increase over time while preserving its ability to support future generations.

As the fund grows, earnings may be used to advance Acorn Acres’ mission while maintaining the long-term strength and stability of the endowment.

Building a Lasting Legacy

Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation was founded on the belief that every wild animal deserves a second chance. The Oak Tree extends that vision beyond the patients currently in our care by helping secure the future of wildlife rehabilitation in Pennsylvania.

Whether through a direct contribution, memorial gift, planned gift, or bequest, every investment in The Oak Tree becomes part of a lasting legacy – one that will continue supporting wildlife long after today’s patients have returned to the wild.

Together, we are planting the seeds for a stronger future for Pennsylvania’s native wildlife.
